Production plant for EMCO machines in Yekaterinburg. The first step involves the production of universal lathes for the Russian market

On July 29, 2015, Emco Group and Unimatic – long-time trade and service partner on the Russian market – have announced the foundation of a joint venture to establish and commission a production and assembly plant in Yekaterinburg.

The first stage involves the production and assembly of universal lathes at the production site in Yekaterinburg – the objective is to gradually increase the percentage of the components installed to 40%. In order to ensure that the initial training and the transfer of know-how will take place under good conditions, the local team will be supported by employees from Austria. The machines are intended for the Russian market, while the range of the models installed shall be gradually expanded. Production officially starts on July 29, 2015.

'Unimatic is our ideal joint venture partner. We have been successfully cooperating in Russia for many years. The decision for the joint production site shows that we are investing in the further market expansion in Russia and that we are particularly interested in EMCO’s further development on the Russian market,' says Dr.-Ing. Stefan Hansch, CEO of EMCO Group. 'This is also an important strategic step for us to create further production capacities and to be able to implement the requirements of the local Russian customers faster and even better.'
